Moringa Pandesal

Just another twist to the favorite Filipino roll to combine a dose of the powder moringa to make it a healthy version. Aka, “malunggay” is a tropical tree with leaves and fruit pods that we used as vegetables on Filipino stews and broth recipes. Nowadays, it’s been acclaimed as one of the superfood or miracle tree in which almost each part of it is made into tea, or supplements for health and beauty.

Moringa Pandesal (Bread Machine)

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup Evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup Whole milk
  • 1/2 cup Lukewarm water
  • 5 tbsp Melted butter
  • 1 tbsp Canola Oil
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 4 cups Bread flour
  • 2 tbsp Moringa powder
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3 tsp Bread machine yeast
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs

Instructions
 

  • Combine ingredients as directed by your bread machine instruction. Set your bread maker to dough mode. Set start.
  • Meanwhile, lightly grease cookie sheets and set aside. Also, pre-heat the oven to 350o F when the dough is machine has completed its process.
  • When bread machine completed the process, you are ready to roll.  Divide the dough into three equal sizes. Roll each portion into a 2 inch think log.
  • Roll the log in bread crumbs and cut into 10 equal sizes or adjust depending on your desired roll size.  Cover each roll with bread crumbs and arrange in a cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart.  Let it rise for at least 30 minutes.
  • Baked for 12-15 minutes.  Remove from oven and wait for 2-5 minutes before removing from the pan. 
  • Serve with butter and your favorite jam.
