Apple Pork Chop

Apple Pork Chop

A nice taste of pork chop especially during Fall when apples are abundant. Though the pairing of apples and pork chops are a classic combination that dates back in time. The natural tartness and sweetness of apples blends well with the pork chop and a great tenderizer.

Apple Pork Chop

Ingredients

  • 6 pieces Thick slice pork chops (at least an inch)
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 3 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 6 cloves Whole garlic
  • 1 medium Chopped onions
  • 2 cups Sliced cored apples
  • 1 tsp Dried thyme
  • 1 tsp Dried Sage
  • 1 tsp Parsley
  • 1 tbsp Maple syrup
  • 1 cup Broth
  • Carrots and potatoes and celery (optional)

Instructions

  • Using IP SAUTE setting, heat olive oil and brown each side of the pork (about 5 minutes each side). Alternately, I also use cast iron for a more traditional method of browning pork shops. Remove meat and set aside.
  • Add onions and garlic and brown for 2 minutes. Return the meat and add all other ingredients. Mix well.
  • Set IP to Pressure Cook for 10 minutes. Do QR.
  • If preferred, brown the meat in an air frier or oven (broil) for 5 minutes. Serve with vegetables.
